- Today I captioned this photo as “Barely running, barely miles, but I’m still out there” with the running girl and flexing emoji. I ran 1.85 miles, and it took a little over 20 minutes and I am damn proud. Every time I do something “normal” I feel the appreciation and gratitude. However, today was different: I FELT that my body is amazing. I gave thanks to God. He created this strong body which is capable of SO MUCH. I tried to make a video Snapchat of the feeling I had today and I couldn’t because it brought tears to my eyes. I’m fighting back tears as I type this. But so so much gratitude this morning.
- To end on a lighthearted note, I definitely need to invest in some running tights and mittens for when I move up north, ha.

- Today I saw The Nutcracker. I LOVE The Nutcracker. I’ve only seen it once before this time, when I was in college (I believe), and I loved it! I danced when I was really little (only for a couple of years) before I had to stop because I wanted to try softball and I’ve recently taken beginner adult classes. I’ve stopped now that it’s become too hard to keep up with my chemo schedule, but I plan on returning on 2018 because I love it! Anyway, this caused me to be MORE into ballet and it’s exciting to see the dancers perform… and when I know some of the moves they do! I know I’ll never be at their level, but I hope one day I’ll be able to do even half the moves they do… and look a quarter as graceful 🙂
Thanks for reading my first ‘Today” series. It’s not a post I will have on a specific day, but rather when I really want to share an event, or events, from my day. I think it’s important to stop and reflect on your days, which I think journaling really helps with. As much as I want to journal I never pick up the pen and the pad and write! So I’m hoping that this blog, and more specifically this “Today” series, helps me with that.
